Day of Filming

After we assembled the walls, wall papered, painted over them, placed the tilings and added  the props we arranged our lighting and camera equipment into position.

On the 25th of November Group A gathered the lighting equipment from the storage room and had them set up for our rehearsal filming, taking footage of our set to get into practice for our day of filming.

On the 26th of November at 9am group A meet in room G12 all met for that shoot. Our actor Simon arrived and our group director Thomas gave him a rundown of the scenes that we're shootings.

One of our fellow students had taken on the job of catering, making sure that there was food and drink to sustain our actor and the rest of our filming crew.

Afterwards we disassembled our lighting and camera equipment and backed it all up, the props on set and the titles we're removed and packed away also to make room for Group B's film shoot. Overall it was a professional day of filming at its best and on schedule. We now have the film entirely shot and we'll be editing it in throughout the following weeks up until our hand in date in February.

Constructing the set

In studio B12 me and the other students were assigned to assemble the set for our UCA advert project.

We were provided with two wall structures and supports to hold them in place. The wall is meant to represent the the interior of an art gallery.

We scraped off the remains of the old news paper from the wall, placed on new wallpaper and then painted over it.

We bought tiling which we measured, trimmed then arranged onto the ground of our set, its to give the impression of the floor like surface of an art gallery in our film.

This process of building the set took as long as two weeks.  Once we place the props in place and gathered the lighting and filming equipment we'd be ready to start filming in the following week.

Settling on an idea for our project

The other students and I have been tasked to divided into two groups and plan out and produce a UCA ad campaign film.

On Friday the 13th of October we sat in groups to discuss ideas as to what our Ud campaign film will be centred on.

In the end our group decided on making an advert against consumerism.

Couch Potato

The idea for the ad that our group is going to be making involves a student in his living space, it resemble an art gallery, filled with a variety of art on display. In one corner theres a pile of old used mobile/iphones.

An advert for a phone would show on his television.

This inspires him to purchase one, so he rings up the service to order the new phone.
